      Fifth-Generation UMTS/EDGE Radio System
Freescale’s RFX300-30 is the world’s smallest 3G RF subsystem. It is a multimode, multiband UMTS/EDGE solution in a single integrated package with the benefit of smart RF. The RFX300-30 is also the first to offer an open standard digital interface for greater compatibility with industry basebands. This highly integrated, comprehensive radio solution for 3G terminals provides an extremely compact board area and low electronic bill of materials. 

      革命性可编程的方法:

      The RFX300-30 improves upon Freescale’s long history of GSM/EDGE/WCDMA RF subsystems with embedded intelligence and simplified layer-one programming. As multiband and multimode phone electronics become more complex and form factors become smaller, simplified programming is key to getting a phone right the first time. Traditional RF baseband programming must consider all the critical timing between the
transceiver, power amplifiers, switches, lownoise amplifiers, baseband processor and voltage regulators. The digital baseband must perform many calibrations to control a transceiver and the detailed timing of all transceiver functions. This interaction results in a significant time investment to complete phone development successfully. With Freescale’s revolutionary approach, an engineer enters a single command stating
the desired channel and power level. This command sets the parameters and times the events so that system compliance is virtually assured.

      RFX300-30 元件:

      The RFX300-30 reduces the subsystem chip count, reducing board space and system cost. Freescale’s subsystem includes the MMM7210 UMTS/EDGE transceiver and the MMM6038 EDGE power amplifier. This solution is based on Freescale’s revolutionary Polar architecture that delivers an optimal balance of low current, small size, and most important, a highly manufacturable radio. Using fewer and smaller devices can provide
savings in development and material costs, so incorporating the RFX300-30 RF subsystem into a design can help meet today’s aggressive targets.


      MMM7210 单片WCDMA/EDGE/GSM收发器:

       The MMM7210 transceiver is a highly integrated transceiver that combines quad-band GSM/EDGE functionality with up to four WCDMA bands in a single package solution. The receiver has five inputs supporting both WCDMA and GSM/EDGE and uses a new RF front-end topology for superior intercept points. The receiver also includes anti-aliasing filters, digital channel filters, digital gain control and high dynamic range ADCs.
MMM6038 功率放大器:

       The MMM6038 power amplifier module supports quad-band GSM/EDGE applications through a dual-PA lineup. The low-band lineup supports GSM850 and GSM900. The high-band lineup supports GSM1800 and GSM1900. The module also incorporates 50 ohm matching circuits for the input and output.
